EcoBullet Shadow is a 300 Blackout 220 grain subsonic round built for suppressed rifles. It leaves the muzzle at about 1,010 fps, below the speed of sound, so there's no supersonic crack for the suppressor to fight.

What is lead-free, and what isn't

The primer is lead-free, so no lead styphnate goes into the smoke at ignition, into your suppressor fouling, or into the gas that blows back toward your face. The bullet has a lead core, fully enclosed in a total metal jacket (TMJ), base included. It's a practice and plinking round, not a hunting load.

Fit and function

Loaded to SAAMI specifications for .300 Blackout. A 220 grain bullet needs a fast twist: Shadow is made for 1:7 to 1:8 barrels. Heavy subsonic loads cycle most reliably with a suppressor attached or with an adjustable gas block tuned for subsonics; without either, some rifles won't lock back.

If your rifle short-strokes (the bolt doesn't lock back on an empty magazine, or the next round doesn't feed):

Attach the suppressor: the added back-pressure gives the action more gas.
Open an adjustable gas block a step at a time, or use one tuned for subsonics.
A pistol-length gas system runs subsonics more easily than a carbine-length one.
Try a lighter buffer or buffer spring.

Bolt-action and single-shot rifles don't depend on gas at all. As with any new load, run a box through your own rifle before you buy a case.

In addition, our primers are lead-free, so less lead reaches the air at the firing line.
