EcoBullet for Ranges, Instructors and Agencies

Training ammunition with a lead-free primer and a total metal jacket bullet, for people who spend hours on the firing line.

Who this page is for

EcoBullet supplies indoor ranges, training academies, law-enforcement and security training units, and individual instructors who fire high volumes in enclosed spaces. Every EcoBullet load is range-training ammunition: the primer is lead-free, and on the 9mm and 300 Blackout loads the bullet is a total metal jacket with the lead core fully enclosed. The company is a small, veteran-owned brand in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

What a lead-free primer does at the firing line

EcoBullet ammunition is designed to reduce one known source of airborne lead at ignition. Conventional primers use lead styphnate, and NIOSH Alert 2009-136, Preventing Occupational Exposures to Lead and Noise at Indoor Firing Ranges, names bullets and cartridge primers as the primary sources of lead exposure at indoor ranges. It recommends jacketed or non-lead bullets and non-lead primers designed for ranges. EcoBullet combines a lead-free primer with a jacket that closes the bullet base on its 9mm and 300 Blackout loads, so less lead reaches the air where the shooter breathes.

This is one source among several. Ventilation, housekeeping, air monitoring and hand hygiene still do most of the work at a well-run range, and ammunition does not replace any of them. OSHA's lead standard, 29 CFR 1910.1025, defines an action level of 30 micrograms per cubic meter and a permissible exposure limit of 50 micrograms per cubic meter, both averaged over eight hours. Meeting those obligations remains the range operator's job. EcoBullet gives that job a lower starting point.

The products

All boxes hold 50 rounds. The lead-free primer is the same on every load; the bullet is not lead-free on any of them. Prices are per box, and the product pages show current stock.

Load Bullet Velocity (approx.) Cases Box / per round
9mm 115gr TMJ Total metal jacket, lead core fully enclosed 1,150 fps Recycled brass, SAAMI spec, reloadable $19.99 / $0.40
9mm 124gr TMJ Total metal jacket, lead core fully enclosed 1,090 fps Recycled brass, SAAMI spec, reloadable $21.99 / $0.44
.223 Rem 55gr Standard full metal jacket, lead core, open base 3,240 fps Recycled brass, SAAMI spec, reloadable $24.99 / $0.50
Shadow 300 BLK 220gr Subsonic Total metal jacket, lead core fully enclosed 1,010 fps, for 1:7 to 1:8 twist New production brass, SAAMI spec $54.99 / $1.10

On the .223, only the primer is lead-free; the bullet is a standard full metal jacket. None of the four loads is a hunting load. Two YouTube channels, GBGuns (December 2025) and BuffmanRange (January 2026), have reviewed the 9mm 115gr independently; one reviewer's test is evidence, not general proof.

Frequently asked questions

Does lead-free primer ammunition replace ventilation at an indoor range?

No. EcoBullet ammunition is designed to reduce one source of airborne lead at ignition. Ventilation, housekeeping and air monitoring remain necessary, and they are the operator's responsibility under OSHA's lead standard, 29 CFR 1910.1025.

Is EcoBullet ammunition completely lead-free?

No. The primer is lead-free on every EcoBullet load. The 9mm and 300 Blackout bullets are total metal jacket with the lead core fully enclosed, and the .223 is a standard full metal jacket, so none of the loads is a nonlead hunting load.

How can a range or agency order in volume?

Write to info@ecobullet.us or use the contact page with your organization, calibers, monthly round count and delivery state. EcoBullet will reply with case quantities and volume pricing.
